MDI Drawing Tabs issue

I have a couple of posts on the various MDI drawing tabs add-ons for AutoCAD, the first was in 2007 (updated in 2010), and another from this year regarding the compatibility of the Autodesk version with AutoCAD 2012.

I have been using the version from www.caelink.com with no problems for a while now.

However, recently I have noticed a fairly significant issue with this add-on. If you have multiple drawings open that have the same name, clicking a tab to switch to another drawing does not work. I say this is significant because if you are not paying attention, you may think you have switched to a different drawing, when you really have not. (The appearance of the tabs does change to make it look like a different drawing is current).

If you use standard file names it is not only possible, but likely that you may have two drawings open with the same name. The Autodesk version of this tool does not have this issue.

Comments

Discovered the same issue a while back. I informed the people at CAELink. They are aware of the problem and are working on a fix.

Thanks for the comment. Would like to see an update to this otherwise great tool.
