The plotting system on here really sucks!!!!!

I don't know if it's just Vista or Trueview, either way there is a BIG problem. Vista is a basket case on its own, but I haven't had this problem before. No matter what you set your printer orientation settings to in Trueview, it switches them around. I have just spent the best part of 2 hours trying to print a landscape drawing in landscape mode, but whatever settings I change or try, it will switch it around so that I have a lousy 8 1/2 x 11 image at 90 degrees to a tabloid, (11 x 17), sheet. What the heck is wrong with this software? I am running out of time. I need to get files printed, but at this rate I shall have to copy them to a machine running XP and print them that way. Thanks Trueview and Vista! 'Trueview' what a misnomer?!!!!!!! Struth!!!!!!

IMO - the problem with Trueview is that it IS AutoCAD, and with no disrespect to AutoCAD novices, etc., printing from AutoCAD is not trivial. It can be almost impossible sometimes. Consider a drawing created at company "A", with a page setup pointed to their printer, using their CTB file, etc. Now this drawing is given to company "B", and a user there tries to print it - good luck getting it right with the multitude of print drivers, settings in the PC3 files, settings in the PMP files, missing pen tables, etc.

As for your specific problem, I'm afraid I don't have an answer. Try posting in the forums at augi.com, cadalyst.com, or Cadtutor.com

I've been struggling with this problem for about 2 hours too - and have eventually found a solution. It doesn't seem to be possible to set the page orientation directly from the plotter properties page - but it is possible from 'Page Setup Manager...' which is a menu choice from the File menu. (If you can't see the usual menu bar with File on the left - then select the drop down arrow on the tool bar that is part of the True view application title bar)

Page Setup Manager seems to be slightly sensitive to the order in which actions are performed. I selected 'New', gave the configuration a name, and then modified it. With the plotting device not selected - in the bottom right, change Drawing Orientation to Landscape and then I selected the plotter DWG to PDF and the page size A3 - and from there it worked.
