Raster Design 2011
Submitted by rkmcswain on Tue, 06/29/2010 - 13:00Steve Johnson over at blog nauseam is reporting that Raster Design 2011 appears to be set to ship on July 20, 2010, some four months after AutoCAD 2011 started shipping. The Raster Design 2011 Object Enabler was released about a month ago.

If you are working mainly in 2D and the ViewCube is getting in your way, you can turn it off by entering NAVVCUBE at the command line and setting it to OFF. This is a per-viewport, per-drawing setting so if you want to disable this feature for future drawings, be sure to change it in your template drawing(s). Read more »Quick Autodesk news

Autodesk Labs has a new labs project called Krypton. This product integrates with Inventor, Inventor LT, and SolidWorks, providing real-time feedback on the manufacturability, cost efficiency, and the environmental impact of the part being designed. I am not in manufacturing, but from what I have heard and seen of this, it looks pretty slick. There are some videos available at the link above. Read more »
ARES 2D/3D CAD application

Shift key not working? Part 2

At the time, I found that Raster Design had hijacked the shift key to allow for image selection. Read more »
